Well, I’m glad it wasn’t Boston itself that scared you away! Yes, all valid points. I am constantly wondering how I could escape to another country that values their people more, and has a life/work balance, but alas, I am a New England girl at heart, and I’m not sure I can convince my family to make the move…and I definitely can’t live without them.

I have not finished reading the story. But for sure, US cant beat Australia for quality of living. Hope you are happy to be back!!

Wasn’t Australia where the UK sent all its prisoners?

After living in the US my whole life, and 18 years for my Aussie husband, we moved to Australia with our 3 kids. Honestly, I wish we had done it sooner. It is HARD being so far from family and friends but, our family life is so much better because of the life/work balance. My husband is home by 430 every night. I wish real estate was affordable where we lived, but I'd rather have my husband home, and all of the other reasons you mentioned. We also live within 2km of two of his sisters.

Agree with everything you’re saying. The quality of life for the average American has gone down hill and yet some how people continue to live in denial.

Yep! This is what we are considering too. And I am American. 😅 But my husband is Australian and we have raised our kids in both countries. I agree with every single thing you listed.

I am from Europe, and live in the US since 1999. My husband is US citizen, so are my grown children. We are now older, our children are adults and live their life. But one of them had the opportunity to move to Europe and was happy to do so. There is very little good to look for in the US. If I could, I would return to my native country too.
