People who hate MHA's ending don't get the story. The point of MHA is that we can ALL be heroes. Not to admire them as transcendent beings. Deku doesn't have worshippers like the others because all of his fans that he's inspired are busy following in his footsteps paying it forward. Kota is literally his student at UA, and he's classmates with what would have been the next big villain if that granny hadn't been inspired to step in. Deku doesn't need or want praise. He wants a better world.

It's a bit understated, but Gege in Ch. 271 tells us thru two of his strongest characters that the pursuit of peak strength/"cursed energy" for its own sake is not as fruitful as paying it forward, letting go of your chains, and abandoning negativity. Yuji wins because he wasn't sad about the end of the series. The fandom is Mahito (literally born of the hatred of humans) bc we're unsatisfied that we don't get to farm more hate-love. JJK271
