I’m from TN, but lived in California for 6 years. Just about every group meal I had in California, the server would automatically put it on one check, but in the south, servers typically ask beforehand if it’s all on one check or if it’s split separately. I still don’t understand why it was always so difficult for places in CA to split the bill for people. Does anyone know why that is?
