Car manufacturers in countries where they normally have left hand drive cars usually designe and make their car with tank on the right, and vice versa. I believe it’s just a design consideration so when the driver need to fuel up they could pull as close to the fuel pump as possible without blocking the driver exiting the car. That said, I realize some manufacturers now put tank on left or right according to the market they are selling to.
