I start by labeling it as “my OCD” because it tells myself that it doesn’t define me. Then I’m just compassionate with myself. Acknowledge that the thoughts and compulsive feelings/behaviours are distressing but that it will pass. “I will get through this moment if I give myself space and time to allow myself get through this moment”
