I've seen comments like "I always catch typos in books, even trad published ones" (psst - so does everyone else), "I have a background in teaching," and "my wife does my editing" as reasons you don't need to hire a pro. My two cents: Quit making excuses. None of those are legit reasons not to hire an editor. But you don't actually need a reason - it's your book, your life. Do what you want. That said... 🧵
