So we are all on the same page here. It’s a major issue. On the flip side, you have that 1-2 students who are progressing really fast. It’s a lot to manage a class with different skill levels.

Oh for sure. My educational policy philosophy was always to think about the kids who need help the most and design systems for those kids. The super advanced kids - who are statistically likely to be from wealthier and/or more stable homes and have parents with college degrees - are going to be fine. If I’m forced into a position where I have to make a decision on where resources are allocated it will always be in favor of the kids struggling.
