Gonna get real for a minute up in here: I had my first colonoscopy last week (just at that age). After putting it off for more than a year after my doctor ordered it. The procedure itself is nothing—you go to sleep and wake up having no idea what happened. The prep wasn't as bad as everyone said. But they did find a polyp and removed it while I was out. They had to biopsy what they removed to be safe. And I just got the results...1/2

I've had several over the years and yes there was a polyp 5 years ago, they said everything was good. And then my nephew had a colonoscopy and they found 13 pre cancerous polyps and revived then all, and yes the Niece that died was his sister. So I ain't playing. I'm on it 🙏🙏🙏

8 小時內	Barb B Cour barbcour	👏 Bravo and good on you!! 45 is the new 50 for colon screening. Used to be in Oncology. Too many young patients with colon cancer. Get screened. Fear is our worst enemy. It’s really not bad and I was afraid for no reason.

8 小時內	Bob Cheney cheney.bob	I was told “All colon cancers start from a polyp. But not all polyps become cancerous. I’m due for my 5 year, but I’ve had 3 years in the past when pre-cancerous polyps were were found.
9 小時內	Christy Capper yaychrispy	That’s great news. I grow similar polyps (at great speed) and go in every 6-12 months. If I hadn’t had one in my mid 30’s I’m told I may not be around at 40, which I just hit. It’s worth all the prep.

10 小時內	Nancy Nightengale 1956nancy	14-year colon cancer survivor here…the surgery, chemo and radiation protocol I endured after a Stage 3B diagnosis was a helluva lot worse than the colonoscopy prep (which no one enjoys). Also after that experience one pretty much loses any squeamishness about discussing gastrointestinal issues.

Though I hate the liquid prep! 🤢🤮🤢🤮 I’ve heard there’s a different prep where you have a type of food? My Dr doesn’t think it does the job though! Good luck on continued good health!!
11 小時內	Robin Lewitz doughnutpanic	My first colonoscopy was at age 28, about 5 months before my dad would die of stage 4 colon cancer. Guess what? I had a polyp blocking my appendix! I am lucky enough to have had a NON-emergency appendectomy😅.
