I'm almost ready to give up - I feel like at this point I've tried everything, posting regularly, not posting regularly, posting long form and short form, reels, carousels, edited content and more vloggy/update style content and nothing sticks. In fact since I started posting more and sharing more art, I've lost followers and some days I seriously feel like giving up. ArtistsOnThreads how are you growing your accounts? Is it just a me problem?

7 小時內	Roxxarte roxxizart	No. Maybe 4 years ago I paid $10 dollars for 2k followers and well I got 2k followers. I got on the Indian man’s algorithm and the Indian accounts were in fact real to some extent and they continued to like and follow my content. It came in batches of maybe 5 to 10 new followers a day but soon enough I had 2120 followers.

I’m focusing my time and effort in the real world- connecting with local galleries and local artists. The community online is never going to be as strong as one in person- it’s too easy to move on to other things online/ be distracted by the next shiny thing. I’ve found the most support from my interactions with ppl irl. I refuse to do the art market circuit tho- that has become overwhelming full of hobby crafters not artists

You really have to be The Artist and the marketing expert and a director for shitty instagram…
