Seattle Threads I know you love the rain and cooler weather and are a bunch of introverts, but can you help someone who doesn’t love the Big Dark? This will be my 19th year here. I still hate the sun setting super early after a gray day. What do you replace hiking and kayaking with during the winter?

5 小時內	Maggie McKelvy mckelvy.maggie	I make sure to take one trip South to get sunlight during the big dark. It doesn’t have to be a long trip, long weekend works. It feels like my batteries recharge and I am so much better when I get back! Also, go outside as much as possible even if gloomy and have a daily exercise regime.
一天內	Susan Wullschleger Dix tangietoodles	I don't replace hiking; the key is to continue in all weather (except high winds). Being active outside, in the right outdoor wear, has been very helpful during the gray months.
2 天內	Sarah Sarah newmoondrops	Fall and winter here can be really beautiful. I like going on nature walks and long drives during these seasons.
