A US judge had ruled that Gen AI images can’t be copyrighted so if the painting is an exact copy then I think it would be treated similarly - there’s no “derivation” applied to the painting. I wouldn’t risk it and as others have said here, why bother

I am asking this question because I want to know about copyright in relation to gen ai NOT out of any interest in using gen ai in any aspect of my work. I absolutely despise gen ai imagery and don't and won't use it in any aspect of my illustrations.
