My bf paid $10k out of pocket to save our cat after he ate a toy and needed surgery. I wish we had pet insurance then😭 so yes, I would say it’s worth it to have so if something ever does happen, you’re not getting totally fucked

As a technician I’ve noticed a lot of clients have mixed reviews. Most insurance companies only cover certain things, and most do require you to put the money up front. If your pet is already diagnosed with an illness, they usually will not accept you. If you have a dog like a dachshund (or any pet with a known disease) the insurance will be skyrocket because they’re prone to back injury. I would definitely make sure you do lots of research because they don’t mention these things! Good luck! 🩷

If you're in the UK Tesco Insurance has been good to us. We had a cat Jessy who got diabetes age 9 and we had to give her 2 shots a day for 8 yrs and we had to have her pts. We had no insurance then. Fast forward 2 yrs, we adopted a 3 yr old cat Raimy Ado from Romania. We've had her 7 1/2 yrs now. On Sept 20 found out she has kidney failure and we're lucky she's still with us but not much longer. We have insurance with her thank goodness. I will never have another pet without insurance!

MetLife! We pay about $15/month for emergency coverage. Worked great earlier this year when our cat ate a toy and had to have surgery. Got back 80% of our money minus deductible.
