Use both. The more you get into image processing, the happier you are that you have the RAW Files and their wider possibilities. There’s nothing wrong starting with JPG, you just aren’t using the full potential of your cameras sensor.

Yout camera can do both. If you like the processing from your camera, JPEG is fine. If you're looking to learn editing in Lightroom or a similar program, I would set your camera to JPEG+RAW. Just bear in mind that RAWs are 4-5 times the file size of JPEGs

Do both then. When you've learned more about editing, you'll be happy you have the RAW ones and can get so much more out of the old pics.
