50/50 doesn’t exclusively mean financially. To answer your question though: idle hands are the devils workshop.

I was raised with the standard that a gentleman pays for everything. In high school and college that shifted to whoever asks the other on the date should pay (which usually still meant the man). However, now I’m more of a 50/50 mindset because my partner told me the origin of a man paying is rooted in the patriarchy and implied the woman couldn’t pay. We’re all about equality over here :) jokes aside, my partner feels respected when I let them split the bill and that’s what’s truly important

I am broke now but if I was making a lot of money I would still want it to be at least 70/30 don’t really have an interest in being a provider.

I don't do 50 50 but I'll do 80 20. U gotta contribute to SOMETHING. Because I cook, clean and take care of my place already so u arent contributing to anything but love lol

I think it has all to do with the fact that Men see how divorced and allat ends up, so they wanna save themselves in some way. Some women (i’ve known) will let a may pay for everything, stack their money, and dip . And i think Men are really afraid of that and thats why they’d prefer an even split . Just my opinion tho

I also think regardless things are 50/50 in some way. I know personally though i want to be able to be a present father. Its hard to be present in the home, provide everything the home needs, and have time for everyone in it . You cant be at work 60 hours a week to pay the bills and have time for everyone in it. Its a harsh reality. So i’d hope everyone finds a partner who wants to lighten the burden each other has.

If it’s a relationship if general rows are set for example she’s not working but she’s taking care of the home 100% it’s our very first date. I’m not sure about that and the reason I say that is because this generation is just not all there. They want a traditional man, but they don’t want to be traditional women so if I’m on a date with a not traditional woman, I don’t have to be a traditional man.

I believe 50/50 is super fair until marriage. If a man pays for the majority of things and then you break up with him that is a large financial loss in a way. If he would like to pay occasionally for dinner or something, that’s is great and his choice. Until you are married, I don’t think it’s the best decision to pay someone else’s way. And I don’t agree that it should be expected of men either.
