I think a lot about how one of the arguments against communism that I see pretty frequently is some variation on “people just won’t work if everyone is paid the same regardless of their job or how much they work. They’ll just stay at home.” There was an experiment run years ago where people were sat in a room with nothing to do for fifteen minutes except press a button to give themselves an electric shock. 1/2
