Anywho Captain Hook appreciation post
The Disney version was made to make fun of gay men, but funny enough, the author of Peter Pan portrayed Captain Hook as a gentleman pirate and as queer. He was simultaneously queer and evil, but one didn’t mean the other. Crazy that some racist old brit somehow managed to give better representation for queer people than a guy 50 years later. Oh, and J.M. Barrie was also queer himself, hence why he put those characteristics into Hook.
