You know, I’m not a big fan of politeness politics because I don’t think politeness and being a genuinely good person are interchangeable. And being from Louisiana, I know this state can be ass backwards in so many ways. Buuuut in the two days since I’ve been home for my visit, I’ve noticed that most ppl around here, Black and White, younger and elder, are inclined to smile warmly and greet you when they encounter you out and about. And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy that.
