I was a single mom of three kids. One night we went out eat and it was busy but the table next to us was empty. An older couple came in but I noticed the woman gave us a funny look before she sat down. We had a lovely meal and the kids were on their best behavior (they were usually pretty quiet). When we got up to leave, the lady said out loud, "that wasn't so bad!" 😳🤪 I thought it was sad that she was expecting the worst. So frustrating.
