The many stories about pregnancies that had problems and d&c was needed. My story was simpler and not tragic. Over 50 years ago I was in college, aiming to get a PhD. I was on an IUD, and was a very careful contraceptor. Never took chances. But at 21, a fertile myrtle. With a boyfriend but our relationship was breaking up. I had an abortion at 7 weeks. I knew that “ some day it would be right/ but not now.” In fact, 16 years later my wonderful husband (new guy) and I had our children.
