The reason why podcast are doing so well right now is because people are craving authentic, real, relatable content. People no longer want the ultra edited, salesy, politician voiced, fake guru anymore. People want to hear your mistakes, see your body language, see the raw authentic you. Why do you think reality tv (even though it’s scripted) but still has been so successful. Vlogs, influencers, etc have been so successful throughout the years because there is a level of authenticity
