I think you may have to take into account the harassment that women get. I've personally had to deal with men calling over and over again, sending like 30 messages in between calls, to the point where I've blocked them. But sometimes men will message you from different numbers or get friends to message you etc, even after you block them. This happens a lot!! So at some point, you just don't want to give your number until you get to know the man better.

Instagram is like giving an email. You don’t get the number until you’ve been vetted. That way if things don’t work out, the date went sour, you’re good I’m good. You’re just a block button away. Also a phone number connects to so many details it’s actually quite dangerous. But I realize most men have no sense of safety or danger. When I say that I mean you don’t have to worry for the most part about protecting yourself. You can handle that. Most women have to worry about safety ,Stalkers etc.

I feel having a person's number is more personal than having someone's social media. And I feel there's a level of comfort,when you attain it. I used to get faked online. I used to get stalked So,I'm not so readily agreeable,to giving out my number straight away.

Sometimes women are interested but are concerned for their safety. Yes you might not have bad intentions, but as a woman you can never be sure and it is better to be safe than sorry. I wouldn’t gamble with my safety because a guy thinks he is too good to have my insta instead of my number.

Women have been killed for refusing to give their phone number out. Either give it their Ig if they aren’t interested in the person…or be fearful of being cussed out and retaliated against.

It’s not about being grown. It’s about being SAFE!
