Even if the man weren't abusive or intending on assault, a well-intentioned man respects a potential partner's desire for a public date (first or otherwise). Men wanna prove themselves as respectable gentlemen with good intentions? Then... They need to actually be respectful, not passive aggressive as if someone's request for a public date is the same as accusing them of having bad intentions.
