People don't understand that this discussion is about the entire life cycle of the asset, not just the first 5 years of ownership and the manufacturering that went into it. Also, people fail to recognize that utility scale renewable energy plants are feeding more and more daily demand. It's like planting a tree that you will not see all the way through it's lifetime yield

Well, if you charge your car at night when you’re home. Then there’s a chance that you’re using electricity generated by some other means. Unless you are not connected to the grid, and you only have solar and battery cells. You’re using some kind of fossil fuel. Not to mention your completely, ignoring the fact that that battery has an enormous carbon cost to mine, transport, refine, transport, produce, and then transfer again to its destination.
