Serious question Threaders, I just got asked This question. I didn't have a definite answer, so can you help? I was asked why @vp has to have 270 elector votes ,but DJT only have to have 268 ? I never heard this before?

3 小時內	Pam Eyer pameyer77	270 is 50% plus 1. Unlike parliamentary governments, the US requires our President to win with a majority - not simply a pluralility of votes. In other words - one candidate must get a true majority of the EC vote.
