One thing that baffles me is how a first world country like the US can’t manage to (or won’t) provide sufficient polling stations to obviate the necessity for the electorate to join lengthy queues. In all my decades voting in Ireland, I have never once had to queue.

Black citizens tend to vote Democratic, for example, so their vote is systematically suppressed in some places by the Republicans in charge of the system.
