We did a group photoshoot on a cyc a couple weeks ago that included some video bts so we opted for continuous lighting. So we put up two 1200Ds shot through a 12x12 and a 600D for fill. My ISO was still at 1250.
Continuous lighting has certainly come a long way but you get way more bang for your buck shooting strobes. Now this is obviously a moot point on mixed sets but if you are just stills, then strobes are the way.
