I don’t get the American obsession with everyone in a household doing their own laundry. Don’t you constantly run half loads or even less? Running less than a full load is a waste of water and energy.

I have not done my daughter ‘s laundry since she was 8 - She does it at her choice.

Yes. But we all do each other’s laundry/dishes/cooking as needed to keep the household going 👍

“Still”?? My kids have done laundry since they were about 10 😂 So…no. They can do their own, and they can do family laundry, too (towels, throw blankets, kitchen stuff, etc.).

I actually enjoy laundry and trade it off for vacuuming which I hate.

Taught my kids as teens, and they did their own after that. Exceptions for "I'm washing darks, do you have anything to add in?"

Absolutely not. My son is 22 has been doing his own laundry for years and I do my own laundry. If I were ever to remarry my spouse would do their own laundry too. I think part of the problem is that so often the responsibility lands on the woman's lap. No thank you I have enough responsibilities. I don't need to be taking care of fully capable adults

22 and living at home, mum still does the laundry, would be pointless to do my own load and not others

Same as most everyone else, my kids started learning to do laundry in their tweens. I taught load size, separating by clothing weight and using the correct amount of detergent. There are community chores but laundry isn’t one of them.
