My heart is breaking. I will have my happy, energetic, affectionate cat put to sleep today. Beefy has rapidly progressing cancer which will cause him to pain within a week. I don't want to let him go, but waiting would be selfish. He has been my constant sidekick for 15 years. Convinced he's a dog, he plays fetch and brings me his toys, including stuffed animals half his size, to play. I eventually learned to hide them at night after he routinely brought them onto my bed to wake me to play. 1/6
