I have 2TB of photos on an external SSD that I'd like to back up to iCloud, but apparently the only way to do this is to first transfer them to my MacBook. The problem: I have a 256gb MBP with only about 70GB available. I'd need to download files from the SSD in ~50GB increments and upload one by one to iCloud 😭

19 小時內	John T. Hoffoss _jth	I use Dropbox for this. Yes it’s one more agent, but I’ve been a user forever and have not ever had any data-loss nightmare scenario. It’s platform-agnostic, available via their mobile apps, is priced similarly to iCloud additional storage, and serves as a form of backup with versioning and access to deleted files (for me, but I might be grandfathered on that…not sure if it’s still an available option…) I also have my library mirrored to my Synopogy NAS, which I can also access from anywhere.
