For those who've had hysterectomys, was the pain after severe, and how long was it until you felt fully healed? Asking as a trans man who's getting surgery next month

As long as you get up and walk around asap healing takes less time...but if you milk it it will be intolerable....you have to work on getting muscle memory back inside and out and that means getting strong as fast as possible...use a pillow on your stomach to cough...and try to stretch your arms up to "pop" the air bubble in your system from the surgery...you got this!!

Four weeks of hell for me (full hysterectomy + ovaries removed via scope) at age 43: Week 1 - Excrutiating pain Week 2 - Debilitating exhaustion Week 3 - Rapid mood swings Week 4 - Hot as hell flashes By Week 5 (and HRT), I felt great. Perimenopause was rough on me with my mood fluctuations, night sweats, and problematic periods. I am so glad I opted to go all in.

Hey mate. I had mine done laparoscopically. Just a couple of tiny holes punched through my abdomen to insert robotics to cut it all up and it all came out via the canal. I was up and moving the day of. Normal day the next day for the most part. I was just tired. A little sore. But nothing major. All original plumbing removed. If that’s what you’re having done, just make sure you’re able to stay on HRT. It’s critical for your personal health to have hormones. Port placement was WAY worse :)

Hey there! I think it depends on the type you have. They used DaVinci robot on me. The first few days the pain was pretty severe. You'll be really tired for about 3 weeks and then one day just suddenly get your energy back. Wear the belly binder...it's gonna be your best friend. Your belly will swell for weeks, so that helps. It was a while before I could wear jeans again, so get your favorite sweat pants. Congrats on getting to this part in your journey.
