African American is the term our community has put forth to be identified as in America. You should use that. The reply you see above was from me to another Black woman and alludes more to the energy between some communities than the actual words they use. The poster was saying to use Black but if you’re unsure or have some fears… that may be indicative of a bigger issue that the recipient would also feel so I’d just stick to African American.
