I'm part of the problem too. I don't listen enough, I answer just to get my point across. I kept wanting to be heard to the point of becoming deaf to yours. I am so afraid of being unheard that I ended up not hearing you. Because to hear you means to face the ugly parts of myself. No wonder you gave up on us
