Because people are revolted, christian included. Instead of being mad at wars, murders, they'll pick the fight that it's the most convenient to them

As a Christian, I think it’s an absolute side topic in the Bible but some denominations have some kind of fixation on it. (And in this topic, they only focus on what happens in the bedroom and not on committed loving relationships). If those people spent only 25% of that energy on social equality and justice (which are much bigger Bible topics), Christians would look better.

All goes back to Saul/Paul dissing Greco-Roman culture back in the day.

Because people want to feel better about themselves. They wanna target someone who is different than them. We all have sinned and they wanna act like being gay is worse than anything else.

Because homosexuality is a lifestyle and way of living. Other sins are a character flaw, the idea of being delivered from stealing, lying, murder etc is more tangible then telling someone their life is a sin. It is very sensitive and takes one to truly be humble enough to accept this fact especially since the New Testament has a heavy emphasis on love and homosexuality is essentially love in the “wrong way”. That’s why we have Christians now who accept it under the basis that God loves all.

Projection from closeted LGBTQ people in Christianity. The inability of Christians to mind their business. Christians preaching of unconditional love but obsession with punishment and judgment. Christianity’s fear of progress and seeking greater understanding of the world around us that would contradict a 2000 year old book that’s just another version of Aesops Fables. Christian’s obsession of power so they must make an “other”.

My comment is coming from a gay man raised catholic who went to catholic school and lived in SLC with the Mormons for 10 years. I’ve seen more unconditional love, charity and grace in any gay bar on a Friday night than I have seen in most churches I’ve ever stepped foot in. And im sure people’s obsession with genitals will make this hard for many to even fathom.

Outdated information and beliefs that take Biblical scripture out of context in order to judge and condemn an entire class of people because they dont understand that anything different from them doesnt equal sin

Because our country has opened up and gay folks are more visible. In the 60s the gays had to stay in the closet so those same people were busy fighting desegregation instead.
