In high school our counselor Ms. Juanita, a black woman, had the blinging-est blinging ring I've ever seen in real life. I knew she wasnt married so 1 day I asked her if she was engaged. She said "No, I always wanted a nice diamond ring so I bought 1 for myself." I was so in awe in that moment that I promised myself that if I become a successful adult I too would treat myself to my own desires.
