You need to look into the law on selling your debt to a 3rd party debt collector in your state & the legality of collecting on a debt that they as a business have discharged & written off on their tax liability many states prohibit any collection efforts after a specific time frame & you may benefit… hope so Be careful what you admit & or offer payment statements because that commitment is binding in some cases I’m not offering legal advice just advocating getting information to your situation.
