I have a question that I hope can get answered. People on here always give me the best answers. Would you qualify J.Crew, GAP INC., Madewell, and all those other kind of brands as fast fashion?

I think “fast fashion” is driven by how often they do “new styles drop”. And also their staple pieces vs “new styles drop” ratio - if a brand releases a single new printed tee every week, I wouldn’t necessarily call it fast fashion (vs a counterpart dropping 13 new printed tee every season). So Uniqlo IMO runs the thin line between fast fashion vs not since their staple collection is so huge and varied. TLDR fast fashion is when a brand releases an entire new wardrobe frequently.

Yes. I consider fast fashion to be fashion made unsustainably using sweatshop labor which all of those brands do

I wouldn’t have before, but I decided to give GAP a try recently and it was not giving quality. J. Crew may be different though! I am a fan of their new creative director.
