Depends on the kid. One kid I left at 9-10, one was 12 (he was impulsive and a little too adventurous).

I’d leave my daughter at like 10-12. My son… maybe 45? Maybe never? I’ll let you know if he ever stops trying to find new and unusual ways to injure himself every 2 seconds.

8 or 9. But I guess depends on the kid and your parenting.

Also depends on what’s around. If I know my neighbors are home it makes a huge difference. Also, we have practiced this, gradually going from 10 minutes to 15 to 20 and so on. I’ve left my kids (11, 9 and 7) home alone for a little over an hour, where they could call me and the neighbors were home. More than an hour I will hire a babysitter.

there are county and state laws wherever you live, you can Google it and see what the legal age that you can leave your child unattended at i,The law will also have times a day. They should definitely be able to know their phone number address. Use the phone to call for emergencies and help know how to unlock the door in case there’s a fire so they can get out and go to the neighbors house. That’s just prerequisite common sense stuff.

Look it up each state has regulations by age and the amount of time children can be left alone.
