Are we truly authentic on social media, or are we just showing a filtered version of ourselves? 🤔 Is authenticity a myth we've created to feel better? What do you think about accounts that try hard to seem real but are just a facade?

Imo, authenticity is found in raw expression. Messy and vulnerable. But the filter can often capture something that the naked eye might miss, so even the curated self can be more 'authentic' than the unedited. Personally, I find my own authenticity in language. Reduced to just symbols, all I have is a stream of conscious thought. But words can lie, and often the truth is far more ugly than the projection. Who am I behind this answer, and who are you behind that question? We'll never know 😘
