There’s a criteria on the distance two runways have to be apart in order to conduct parallel approaches. On top of that, visibility and (I think) ceilings requirements have to be met. If not, the approaches have to be staggered. That’s when you start to see GDP rolling out for SFO because staggered configuration isn’t as efficient.
