Geez just lost our dog but she died peacefully in middle of night guarding our front door ( german shepherd ) … if dog cannot really walk or is in continual pain to me thats the time but its very hard

I adopt moma dogs after they retire from breeders and other senior dogs. My rule of thumb is their change in independence in toileting and outward signs of pain. Also, long periods of panting, loss of appetite, reduced socialization, confusion or trouble walking.

Ask yourself are you extending her life or just prolonging the dying process? You will answer your own answer.
