There was booze and tears and other emotional exchange, it was unplanned. It felt good to say it out loud even though I had not hidden anything or gone to church in their absence for almost 20 years. My Dad took it well, I’m not sure but he may have been both happy I could talk to him about it and sad as you would expect. We haven’t talked about it since but he sent me a book about science and religion. Intellectualizing the topic as my family does.
