Other brides low key shame you. When you want a lower cost option they make you feel like you’re being cheap. In reality I just don’t want to drop $5k on a dress I will wear only a few times. If you ask for recs for lower cost food ideas they act like you’re doing a major disservice to wedding guests and you should probably not have a wedding at all. It’s mean girl behavior.

That cookie cost that much because of overhead. Catering is nothing like baking cookies at home. As a caterer it is transportation of products that make it so expensive.

My friend got quotes from multiple caterers and said it was for a birthday party, because it turns out that some will inflate prices once they find out it's a wedding 🫠

Because that cookie doesn’t magically appear. It’s not just the cost of the ingredients, it’s also: the skill it takes, wear and tear of equipment, electricity, packaging, and paying themselves a living wage.

Ingredients, labor costs of making a cookie… and then possibly serving the cookies.
