I'm blind and I finally understand what a Spitfire looks like. So often when I visit musems I'm told there is nothing for me, nothing I can touch or interact with. I was amazed to find so many multi sensory exhibits at the Royal Airforce Museum in London. I could feel the curved wings of the spitfire, smell the boot polish used on parade shoes and listen to chinook pilots talking about food aid missions. I loved being able to explore the exhibits in a way that was meaningful for me.
