I had a colonoscopy with no anesthesia. It was uncomfortable as you felt like you needed to go to the bathroom. It did not hurt at all. The prep sucked. So save your shitting for the prep. I had colon cancer snd have had many colonoscopy. Prep acid and not being able to drive home afterwards stinks.

I've had 3 over the years with no sedative or anaesthetic. In fact, I was able to watch the procedure, including polyp removals, on the screen as it happened. Absolutely no problem whatsoever. The prep, ie the industrial strength laxative that clears out the intestines before the procedure is by far the worst bit of it all. Worry not. It sounds much worse than it actually is.

You will be knocked out, no worries, you won’t know a thing

Colon cancer survivor here. They’ll give you a kind of sedation where you’ll remember nothing when it’s done. The worst part is absolutely the prep to clean out your colon. It’s terrible, I know, but it’s the only way for your doctor to get a good look at your colon and then remove any polyps they find. There are other screening methods, but none of them can actually help prevent colon cancer because they’re not removing any polyps.

Nothing at all to sorry about, its that horrible powdered drink that you have to drink that drove me mad and made me feel sick on the way to the hospital, colonoscopy was a breeze, you can even watch it on the screen during the procedure, and any pain you feel will be mild, or you may be given painkillers, the nurse holds your hand all the way through.

I have them yearly. Nothing to worry about. If you need to do the nasty tasting prep them use a straw so it will bypass a lot if your tastebuds. Just let them knock you out. It’s really nothing to be scared of.

When I get in the room, I ask who is in charge of the drugs and then tell them I don’t want to remember being there. I haven’t remembered a thing

Only a big deal if you don’t have one. Suck it up in 45 minutes it will be over😁
