Breakfast in Europe means having the most delicious, buttery croissant. At any simple café. I took one that is “artisanal.” And it’s just 0.40€ (~$0.45)! Why are normal, mass-produced croissants in the US at least $5??

Sorry but where the hell did you find a croissant for 0.40 euros? In 1965? 😂

Is this a joke? You know “Europe” is not a country, right? Also you won’t find 0.40€ croissants even in the cheapest European countries.

Yes, the typical breakfast in the big country of Europe. Some say the croissant breakfast originated in a small province of Europe country called France. But as this is just a small region nobody is sure. It could also be it came from the most eastern part of Europe country, where they are Muslim and this crescent moon shaped bread found it's birth.

Your wages are quite a bit higher…and your gas is way cheaper…and your businesses are less bureaucratic and easier to start…lets us have a cheaper croissant and free healthcare…otherwise Breaking Bad would never exist if you had it as well…😁

The cost of industrialisation of food production, and a lack of local enterprises, growers, artisans… a good example is meat packing in the US

I know everyone is asking the same question, but I also want to know the answer. Where did you found a croissant in a café for 40 cents? Let me straight with you: Even in Portugal a Pastel de Nata is 60 cents to 80 cents, and it is probably the cheapest thing you can find along side a coffee for 50 cents in one of the most "cheap" countries in Europe.

They really are 5 dollars at some places but in fine bakeries and coffee shops in NYC, for example, not mass produced. Where the f are you getting these prices?

You stopped fighting for workers rights and all seem to have accepted a system that hates human beings. Probably.
