This is my very rare 7.5 foot Krakauer piano built in New York in 1888. 136 years ago.
It was a plain black finish. It took me three summers of hand sanding it down to a very, very smooth finish. It is made of rose wood.
I began the art work using acrylic paint.
The idea is to finish it with thin wood scroll work covered in gold leaf then apply 40 layers of shellac with hand sanding between each layer. It holds a tune very well and has an incredible base tone.
