Some days I wish I could shield everyone who hasn’t seen how horrifically Helene devastated Swannanoa from grasping the true magnitude of loss here. It feels like no one should ever have to “get” that. It’s too much. But some days, like when someone asks me if it’s starting to feel “normal” again here yet, I wish everyone could bear witness to the reality.
