I think some of us trans folk who did love Harry Potter growing up as kids loved the fact that here’s a kid, very out of place, and he ends up somewhere where he makes his forever family through hardship, and discovers his true calling. Sounds a bit like we yearn for that connection over the author’s values 🥰 I think for someone who seems to hate folk having a choice in their gender, she has a BIG theme around over controlling people’s magic and breaking from that societal pressure. Ironic? 😂
