I've noticed some chatter about the grandma stereotype in knitting again, so I'll sum up my thoughts on that one briefly: Knitting, crocheting, and other stitching hobbies are for everyone, and joking about them being only for grandmas is tired and exclusionary. But if you're pushing back against the grandma stereotype because you think older women are sad or embarrassing or uncool, well, you can't sit here.

The young people that are worried about the planet should appreciate the art and how kind to the planet it is. Garments last longer, can be darned, undone and reknitted and passed on. I knit a lot of funky socks, great for your feet, no bacteria and are fun
