Depends how we're defining empathy for me. I don't feel people's feelings with them or pick up on vibes- I can't read other people well enough for that. But my cognitive empathy and compassion are very strong.

Yep, I have a level of empathy born out of having suffered at the hands of people who hated vulnerability. But I also have an equally developed rational understanding of my accountability, also derived from people who used reason to torture me. I'm a hoot at parties.

Sometimes I feel numb in groups because it's like I'm feeling all of the feels from all of them all at the same time and I can't turn it off or just pick one
